Dad, Mom and Delta made the trek up yesterday to check on the progress of the farm. Everything is still going well. The protein feeders are being absolutely hammered, to the tune of about 2oolbs/week. Mineral sites are seeing good use and tracks are everywhere. Coon Bayou is staying in it's banks right now, but only about another foot, foot and half before we start getting some water backup. Fingers crossed for a dry spell right now. The fields have been sprayed and we will try to get beans in the ground soon. Dad also is trying something new with the trophy rocks this year. Rather than feeding them to the hogs and having them take them wherever hogs take trophy rocks (obviously deep into the WRP...they stole 4 of them last year), he has made deer suckers. I'm anxious to see how this will work and look forward to placing a few cams over the summer on these locations. A few pics from their trip yesterday...
