Made a quick trip over to 3F last weekend. Filled all the protein feeders and did our best to hog proof them. Freshened 4 of 5 mineral sites. The rain started and we had to get out before making it to the bow hole. Very glad to see a good stand of clover coming in on most of the fields. This will serve as a good protein bridge between now and when we're able to get the beans in the ground. Even saw 2 deer browsing on it in the Owl Field when we drove in at noon. The homesite/dove field doesn't seem to have as many weeds growing on it as it did last year, probably due to taking the top layer off and disking it under 3 times during the summer months. Everything looks good so far with LOTS of deer tracks everywhere. Fingers crossed that we don't have a high river to deal with this spring, but don't know that we're going to be that fortunate.
