2011-2012 Stats: AVG of 7.2 deer per hunt, 49 Bucks, 143 Does for a ratio of 1 to 2.9. There was one doe killed on our 300 acres. On neighboring property of 322 acres, there was one doe, a 220lb 5 point and a 6 year old 8 point killed for a total of 4 deer taken off of 622 acres. Our goal the first year was to get an inventory of what the property could offer and only shoot mature or mountable bucks. It is obvious some improvements will need to be made in the WRP to afford morning stand sites. The deer just did not enter the food plots with regularity during the morning hours. My goal for the offseason of 2012 is to establish 3 new morning stand sites within the WRP. Since the WRP is so heavily regulated under contract, finding slight openings within the wooded area will be vital.
